
Dr. Sun brings a wealth of periodontal training with him to Las Cruces. A native of China, he graduated from Zhejiang University with honors. He then went on to attend dental school at Zhejiang University receiving his doctorate of medicine in dentistry and masters of science in oral maxilofacial surgery. During dental school, his interests gravitated toward oral pathology and research, leading him to received his Ph.D in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Shanghai Second Medical University. He came to the United States for his Postdoctoral Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. As a graduate resident at Loma Linda University in California his passion for peridontology took off, leading him to become an associate professor in the school's Department of Periodontics.
Dr. Sun moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2015 where he practiced as a Periodontist for four years until convinced to call Las Cruces his home and join Implant and Laser Periodontal Surgery Center in October 2019. His advanced education in oral surgery and dental implants allow him to utilize cutting-edge technology and techniques for the benefit of his patients.
