Dr. Carrillo was born in El Paso, Texas and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Dr. Carrillo remained in her home town until she graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology, and minored in Biochemistry, she was active in numerous groups on campus including the pre-dental society. Dr. Carrillo has spent the last seven years of her life in California where she attended Loma Linda University, a Christian faith-based dental school. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2015 followed by a Masters of Science degree in Periodontics in 2018. While attending Loma Linda, Dr. Carrillo made life-long friends, participated in research, mentored and lectured to students, and received various awards.
Dr. Carrillo is excited for the opportunity and honor to return home and treat the people of Las Cruces, as a periodontist. She says that the community has been so supportive throughout her long journey. She enjoys providing periodontal care for others because she strives to make her patients feel comfortable and relaxed during treatment while maintaining her warm and charismatic demeanor. Having had extensive dental work herself, she has the advantage of knowing what patient's viewpoint.
In her spare time, Dr. Carrillo tries to maintain balance by finding time to cook, read, workout, and spend quality time with friends and family.
